COMMUNITY?

You’ll find all this and more at a Catholic school.

The call of Catholic schools is to bring the light of Christ to all. We walk alongside students, offering them the opportunity to explore their beliefs and deepen their understanding as they grow and mature in their faith.

Anyone who has walked into a Catholic school will tell you there is something different about them. This difference is more than skin deep. It’s at the centre of who we are and what we believe. Faith formation in a Catholic school is an invitation to develop a Catholic intellect that is nurtured by a Catholic spirit, and, ultimately, finds its fullest expression through a Catholic heart.

Faith and reason

A Catholic intellect

Inspired by the model of Jesus Christ, our teachers and school leaders invite all students to explore our Catholic belief system and its relationship to their lives and the world around them.

Beauty and depth

A Catholic spirit

Students have the opportunity to develop a Catholic worldview that values and prioritises truth, beauty, and goodness. Our schools inspire a deep appreciation of the mystery of God through positive relationships, liturgical practices, and the joy of belonging in a connected community.

Mission and service

A Catholic heart

In a Catholic school, faith is not theoretical. From the earliest years, students learn to respond with love and compassion and to see God in all things. We also offer opportunities for students to develop their leadership skills and work alongside others while making a positive difference for people and the planet.

Bearers of Christ's Love: The purpose of Catholic schools

The purpose of our Catholic schools is laid out in a decree by Bishop Brian Mascord. It ensures our Catholic schools will be high quality centres of learning, where faith is experienced and lived out as an integral part of students’ education.

What if we're not Catholic?

Respecting parents as the first—and primary—educators of their children, our Catholic schools are open to all who wish to receive a Catholic education.

This openness comes with the understanding that, while everyone is at different stages of their journey, joining a Catholic school community means respecting and supporting the values and Catholic ethos of our schools.

As an expression of the Church, Catholic schools are places of evangelisation and encounter with Jesus Christ and the Good News that he preached. But as St Pope John Paul II said: “The Church proposes; she imposes nothing.”
