Provide continuity of learning for students
Casual teachers play a critical role in making sure that students can continue learning even when their usual teacher isn’t available.
You're welcome to apply for casual teaching approval when you have completed 75% of your teaching degree and have received conditional accreditation from NESA.
To be approved to seek employment as a casual teacher you must apply via our careers portal.
School support
Provide support in a school office or classroom
To be eligible to apply for casual employment as a school support officer you must have at least one of the following:
- Certificate III in Education Support and/or Business Administration OR equivalent (please contact Recruitment as to whether your qualifications would be considered)
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role
- Currently undergoing tertiary qualifications to become a Teacher (at least completed first year of tertiary qualification in Education/Teaching)
